Meet the Crew!
Meet Madison
Meet Ben
I love sport, especially football and I play for the NORTH BEACH FOOTBALL CLUB. This year I was part of Perth Football’s Leagues FITS program that started during Covid19 so we could keep our fitness up through online training sessions. I am a mad West Coast Eagles Supporter. I was lucky enough to be at the 2018 Grand Final when they won, which is a huge highlight in my life. I also do Surf Lifesaving through the Sorrento Dolphins - Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club WA. I love to reading, listen to music, and ride my red 3 wheeler along the coast, and spending time on our boat at Rotto.
I am excited to be part of The Periscope Crew. Stay tuned for some great stories!
Meet Toby
I work at Bethesda Health Care as an Administration Assistant. I also work at the Swan Districts Football Club as part of their Community team. In my spare time I coach at the NORTH BEACH FOOTBALL CLUB as part of their Integrated side and in the summer I play cricket for Wembley Districts Integrated Cricket.
Why am I involved in The Periscope Crew? Because I am passionate about the media and proving that people with a disability can do anything they set their mind to!
Meet James
I love to spend time with my whole family (cousins etc) and love to travel. I’ve been to the UK, France, Italy, America, Russia, Poland, Bali, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur & China (my dad has actually carried me up the Great Wall and many years ago to the top of Uluru).
My biggest passion in life though is LIVE sports! I’m a massive one-eyed West Coast Eagles supporter and have been to ALL of their Grand Finals since I’ve been alive. My ultimate dream would be to work for the West Coast Eagles one day. Through The Periscope Crew, I’m hoping to bring some awareness around the everyday challenges and difficulties I face being in a wheelchair.
Meet Dylan
Hi, my name is Dylan. I’m 23 years old and graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication) in 2021. I’ve worked as a videographer for the last 3 years and worked on all sorts of jobs from corporate conferences and weddings, to state sporting competitions. I also continue to work in live broadcast on the camera for Perth Glory/AFLW games as well as concerts and festivals. I am an absolute sporting fanatic and love playing footy on the weekends as well as social basketball during the week.
I joined The Periscope Crew as a mentor in September of 2021 and have loved it ever since. Being able to teach others some of the camera and editing skills I’ve learnt over the last few years is extremely rewarding. The people I work with and the work we do to promote inclusivity and accessibility makes every day with the Crew feel special.
Meet Tyla
I also work with Ben, one of the other Periscope Crew members as NDIS Support and I can’t tell you how excited I get to go to work and hang out with Ben every week. He’s always got the most up-to-date jokes that really make your day. It has been such a great opportunity to be part of The Periscope Crew and I can’t wait to see what the crew has in store for the years ahead!
